Caorle created this gorgeous, improv-looking quilt of triangles with a surprising method twist - she paper pieced them!

This makes it the perfect pattern for the person who loves the look of improv, even if it doesn’t come easily to them. You can check out her pattern here.

Carole put together this version with vibrant neons, and pops of a black and white print. The triangular quilting pattern and binding accents pull together funky, light-hearted, and modern, all in one quilt.

Pop Rocks

PIECED AND QUILTED BY CHERYL BRICKEY, DESIGNED BY CHERYL BRICKEY

Cheryl designed this quilt as an entry for the Michael Miller challenge for QuiltCon 2018. "My idea was to create a "pop" with the Our Yard prints on a monochromatic, minimalist black and white quilt." She template pieced the quilt, and added plenty of black negative space to give the blocks some breathing room.

She straight line quilted it meticulously with white thread. The level of craftsmanship is stunning; every flaw shows with this type of quilting and we didn't see any!

Tessellation

PIECED BY MEGHAN ESCHBAUGH

CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE BY US

This quilt is jam-packed full of prints from all of our favorite modern fabric designers - Heather Ross, Cotton and Steel, Anna Maria Horner, and more! Meghan made this quilt using the Tessellation pattern, by Alison Glass and Nydia Kehnle. The original quilt was made in all solids, and this is the first print rendition we've seen. It's incredible, isn't it?

She kept the corner triangles as a fun flourish, with a cream binding and simple quilting to keep the focus on the quilt top. Folding, draping, and crumpling up this quilt changes the look drastically, making it look almost like a different quilt depending on how you lay it! She backed it with a mustard floral print to tie everything together.

Ali Jensen created this sweet baby quilt for the RJR "What's your shade?" blog hop. You can check out her post here. It reminds us of cupcake frosting ;).

I absolutely adore the way it looks draped! It's a baby / throw size, and would be the perfect compliment to a modern nursery or living room. The variety of simple geometric shapes combined into one quilt top creates a quilt that is interesting to look at from a variety of angles, folded or unfolded. Pattern available here, original quilt for sale here.

Brittany shared that this design was "inspired by the rich Native American history in the mountains of Western North Carolina".

Resound

PIECED and quilted BY Erika Nickens

@Modscrap

PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE 2 BY US

For this vibrant quilt, "Resound", Erika alternated black and white blocks with blocks filled with bright colors. She used a scrappy, string piecing method for this funky lap / throw sized quilt. It would make a really fun baby quilt, too! She quilted it with simple lines; the focus on this quilt is the pattern in the quilt top itself. The bold color choices, balanced with the monochromatic prints, combine to create a pop-art look.

She is featured, alongside this quilt (and these photos) in the July/August 2018 issue of Sewn Magazine. Go check it out! Erika, you rock!!

This quilt is really exciting to share - it is the quilt that you can make as part of the Modern Plus Sampler quiltalong led by Cheryl and Paige! Isn't it gorgeous? It combines a number of blocks from their book, Modern Plus Sign Quilts, arranged in a stunning new layout. There are so many ways you could color this quilt, but Cheryl's careful placement of lights and darks, with dashes of blue-greens, is simply genius.

Alli, one of our Brand Ambassadors, sent this lovely twin-sized quilt to our studio to be photographed. She used lots of neutral yardage and added pops of color with charm pack squares to create darling little accents.

It has a fresh and sweet look to it, accented by the longarm pattern: quilted flowers with loops. Alli has this pattern available for sale here.

Celtic Crossing

PIECED BY BRITTANY LLOYD

@loandbeholdstitchery, www.loandbeholdstitchery.com

quilted by Knot and Thread Design, custom photography package by us

We're excited to share our first Brand Ambassador quilt! Brittany designed and pieced this sweet baby quilt, Celtic Crossing, as a play on the negative space of a traditional Irish Chain quilt. For this version, she used gray solids, paired with a striking geometric quilting pattern.

Lloyd_Brittany_Quilt_1(1) (1).jpg

"I started with Kona Charcoal on the outer edges, then Kona Steel, Kona Iron and Kona Quicksilver. My background was Kona Snow (as always!). I'm typically not the biggest ombre fan, but I HAD to do it with this quilt and I loved how it turned out!"

This quilt is all about line and form, and beautifully combines soft and strong. Brittany sent this quilt off to Knot and Thread Design for edge-to-edge quilting, and used a whimsical hedgehog print for the backing.

You can find this pattern for sale in her shop here

Sizzle

PIECED BY ERIKA MANNINGHAM-NICKENS, @MODSCRAP // QUILTED BY DARCIE MAIR, @DARCIEMAIR // CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE BY US

We're back with another quilt by scrap quilting maven, Erika. This gigantic, queen-sized scrappy quilt combines postage stamp squares and bordered rectangles. She expertly mixed these together in warm and cool sections. She backed it with a pop-style print and bound it with an electric yellow.

Erika sent this quilt to Darcie Mair for longarm quilting. Darcie used a chunky, variegated thread and flow quilted edge to edge swirls, feathers, paisleys, and other curly motifs. This quilt has been machine washed and has a luxuriously soft texture.
